Crews with the city of St. John’s spent most of the day yesterday clearing away debris and working on fixing roads damaged by the effects of the weekend storm, but it is still difficult to gauge the full extent of the damage.
About four roads remain closed in the capital city at this time, those are Cadet Road, Syme’s Bridge, Mooney Crescent, and Old Petty Harbour Road between Densmore’s Lane and Cemetery Lane.
Council lead for public works, Sandy Hickman, says crews are still assessing the damage.
He says they are checking some roads to see if there is any damage done, or if debris was just left over. Hickman says they want to make sure there aren’t any more problems.
