Approximately half of all mammograms identified for review by three of the province’s regional health authorities have been completed—with a total of 18 patients requiring further assessment.
Close to 6,000 mammograms were identified for review under Eastern Health, Western Health and Labrador-Grenfell Health after it was discovered that some of the images were viewed on 3-megapixel stations instead of the standard 5-megapixels.
Patients whose images showed possible discrepancies will be contacted for follow-up.
