The final monument on the Trail of the Caribou, which marks major battlegrounds involving the Newfoundland Regiment during WWI, has been erected at Gallipoli in Turkey.
Members of the Trail of the Caribou, which has been working to finish the vision of Newfoundland Regiment Chaplain Thomas Nangle, visited the newly-erected Caribou Memorial this week, 107 years after soldiers from the Newfoundland Regiment landed at Suvla Bay.
The official commemoration ceremony is taking place tomorrow involving a delegation of more than 30 Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who travelled to Turkey for the event.
