Air Canada is welcoming the removal of COVID-related travel restrictions.
The federal government is lifting the remaining restrictions including the wearing of masks on aircraft, testing and quarantine regulations, and the compulsory use of ArriveCan effective October 1.
Air Canada says the removal of the restrictions will “greatly facilitate travel and help to…stabilize the country’s air transport sector.”
The carrier calls the announcement a positive step, and urges government not to lose momentum by applying lessons learned during the pandemic to streamline the country’s air transport system. That includes improvements to security and customs, developing new traveller programs and deploying new technologies.
