The provincial government is moving ahead to the next phase of a process to allow wind development following a successful call for nominations of areas of interest earlier this summer.
In total, government says they received 31 land nomination submissions for wind energy projects.
During the next stage of the process, government will determine which land packages will be made available for the competitive bid process, which will be informed through a review of the proposed and existing land uses, as well as consultations with communities and indigenous partners.
According to government, no Crown lands have been approved, and none will be awarded until the competitive bid process occurs.
The call for bids is expected to be launched on December 15th.
