A 44-year-old St. John’s man has been arrested and charged with a series of violent assaults in Paradise and Mount Pearl last week.

The RNC received calls on Saturday, October 1, alleging violent assault and sexual assault.

Police say two women suffered injuries as a result.

Michael Pippy was arrested on Sunday, October 2 and charged with assault causing bodily harm, choking, sexual assault, assault with a weapon, two counts of assault, forcible confinement, uttering threats, theft and failure to comply with a court order.

Pippy was held in custody pending a court appearance.
