Nine people have been displaced by a Thanksgiving weekend fire in the capital city.
The fire broke out in a townhouse complex on Lester Street at about 3:00 on Saturday afternoon. The originating unit was extensively damaged while the two adjacent ones incurred some damage as well.
A woman and her daughter in the home where the fire broke out were treated and released from hospital, and have been provided with emergency lodging by the Canadian Red Cross. Three people from a neighboring unit were also provided with a place to stay, while a family of four was displaced but did not require assistance.
