A one-woman play depicting the ups and downs of a young woman’s life is hitting the stage at Quidi Vidi Brewery.
“Today I…”, written by and starring Lonni Patey and directed by Bailey Jackson, tells the story of a young woman named Gema, a feminist, hopeless romantic who writes in her diary as a therapy exercise, talking about mental health, STIs, sexuality, dating, and loss. However, when her father passes she abandons the diary for 11 years, before picking it up once again to explore her grief.
The show takes the form of a series of monologues written as Gema’s diary entries and sets out to show viewers that they are not alone.
The show takes place Sunday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m.
