The Wexford Estates Outer Cove Marines have partnered up with the Ron Cadigan Foundation to support opportunities for youth to enjoy sports.
The foundation is operated by Ron’s family, set on inclusion and respect for all engaged in sports.
Ron, who wore the C for many years, had his number 10 retired in 2013 in a game between the Northeast Eagles and Southern Shore Breakers.
James Cadigan, Ron’s son, says the objective of the foundation is to provide children with opportunities they may otherwise not have had. They hope to expand the program to include more teams in the Avalon East Senior Hockey League.
He says it’s important that the initiative be expanded throughout the league so that children have the ability to compete in sports.
