The Premier continued to field questions from the Opposition regarding a recent fishing trip made with one of the major proponents behind a massive proposed wind and hydrogen project on the west coast.
Premier Andrew Furey admits he is friends with John Risley and spent time with the business leader fishing in the summer 2021 with his father.
Opposition House Leader Barry Petten continued to question Furey about the trip and whether a conflict of interest exists in relation to the proposed project.
“I remind the Premier he does hold the highest office in the province, and unfortunately with that comes a level of responsibility,” says Petten. He asked for a full list of everyone who joined him on the trip, to which the Premier responded that “personal time needs to be personal time” and there have to be some boundaries. He says who was on the trip is public knowledge “it’s been fully disclosed.”
