A woman who has been staging weekly demonstrations advocating for better mental health services is reflecting on 100 weeks of spreading her message.
With a banner draped across the front of Confederation Building, Kristi Allan’s message to government remains unchanged: long-term mental healthcare needs to be more accessible.

Allan notes that she has had several long-time supporters who have been joining her and that having such support means “everything.”
Allan says her own mental health hasn’t been great this year and those supporters have helped keep the demonstrations going while she was “so sick.”
She wants government to know that the need for long-term services doesn’t go away, and just focusing on the short-term is not enough.
