A Radiothon held on VOCM and Bigland FM today has raised a significant amount of money for Kids Eat Smart.
The total raised as of 5:00 p.m. today is $342,794.
Kids Eat Smart aims to provide every child in the province with breakfast every morning. The organization provides food for over 96 percent of schools in the province.
VOCM Cares donated $1,000 to the cause, while Scotiabank pitched in with $25,000.
Executive Director of Kids Eat Smart, Celina Stoyles says the money will help a significant number of children.
One in four children under 18 in Newfoundland and Labrador lives in a food-insecure home.
