A 50-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving following a crash on the Trans Canada Tuesday evening.
Police were called to the scene just west of Whitbourne just before 7:00 p.m. after an SUV left the road and crashed into a ditch.
The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle may have escaped injury, but not police attention as he was driving with a suspended licence and showing signs of impairment.
Police say the man refused to provide a breath sample and now faces charges of impaired driving and refusing to comply with a breath demand.
The man’s licence was suspended and his vehicle seized.
He’s been released to appear in court at a later date.
