The discovery of human remains in a quiet Paradise neighbourhood has unnerved some in the area.
Investigators descended on a wooded area off Three Island Pond Road Monday morning after the discovery of human remains.
The RNC has not yet provided information on the gender or identity as the Chief Medical Examiner is still working through the investigation into those and other issues including the cause of death.
Police, members of the Rovers Ground Search and Rescue, and experts from Memorial University focused their efforts on what was called a “concentrated” and “defined” area.
Local residents could only speculate about the discovery, but many agreed it was unusual to see that level of activity in such a quiet neighbourhood.
One woman told VOCM News it was unnerving to know that human remains had been found in the area, but she hoped that it would bring closure to anyone who might be missing a family member.
