The We Stand On Guard Again concert, including matching funds from the federal government, has raised over $2 million for people impacted by Hurricane Fiona.
The concert, held on Sunday at the Mary Brown’s Centre, featured an all-star lineup of Newfoundland and Labrador artists. In addition to the concert, 100 per cent of all sales at Mary Brown’s locations across the province on Sunday also contributed to the grand total of $2,010,097.
Event organizer Chris Andrews calls it one of the greatest nights of his career, noting that all of the money will stay in this province.
He says the money is a help, but the people of the southwest coast still have a long way to go.
