Premier Andrew Furey is set to make an announcement regarding a government initiative to recruit international health care workers to the province.

Furey paid a visit to Ireland back in September at which time he met with health care educators and students to discuss recruitment opportunities. It was part of a number of ongoing initiatives being explored by government to address staffing needs in the health care system.

Furey will be joined by Immigration Minister Gerry Byrne, Health Minister Tom Osborne and Lynn Power, the Executive Director of the College of Registered Nurses, for a news conference this morning at 11:00 at Southcott Hall.
