Downtown St. John’s is encouraging people to support local tomorrow during tax free day.
Marketing, Special Events & Public Relations Manager Gaylynne Gulliver calls it “one of the most highly anticipated shopping days of the year,” noting that there are over 70 shops and services participating.
Gulliver says tax free day is big for businesses.
She says the holiday season is the time when people in the industry really make their money. She says when people shop local, over 90 per cent of that money stays in the local economy.
