The case against a man charged with impaired driving causing death was again postponed today.
28-year-old Tyler Harding was expected to enter pleas to eight charges in total, including impaired driving and impaired causing death, plus six counts of breaching court orders.
But his lawyer told the judge his client couldn’t attend court because he wasn’t feeling well.
Harding must be present in the courtroom to enter pleas, since the offence is indictable, more serious than summary.
The single-vehicle crash occurred in the early-morning hours of Sunday, August 8th of last year.
A 29-year-old woman from Torbay, who was also in the Ford Ranger, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Harding was treated in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and formally charged two months later.
Pleas of either guilty or not guilty are again expected when the case is called on December 14th.
