A man has been arrested after somebody tried to rob the Shell gas station in Carbonear on the weekend.
Harbour Grace RCMP arrested 25-year-old Aaron Green and charged him with one count of robbery.
Police say he entered the business at about 7:30 Saturday night and told the cashier that he was going to rob the store. In turn, the cashier told him that a panic alarm was being activated. RCMP say Green then fled the store on foot and empty-handed.
He remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for today.
