The Murphy Centre is launching its Inspiring Lives Capital Campaign at an event this morning at the Comfort Inn in St. John’s.
Development Coordinator Derrick Moore says the Murphy Centre gets core funding through a number of means, but more money is needed to help them provide targeted programs to people who need it the most.
The Murphy Centre was established as the Brother TI Murphy Centre in 1986 and provides a variety of programs to help adults complete their high school, fill a gap in their education, or get access to career services.
Moore says COVID was a perfect example of how flexible organizations need to be.
He says organizations like the Murphy Centre have learned how to find different fundraising modes.
The Murphy Centre has launched its Inspiring Lives capital campaign and is also holding a Change A Life 50/50 draw the deadline for which is November 23.
