Metro police have intercepted what they’re categorizing as an “identity theft operation” set on fraudulently acquiring vehicles.
Three men have been arrested but police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
At this stage, a 32-year-old from St.John’s has been charged with identity fraud, forgery, unlawfully possessing another’s identity and failure to comply with a court order. He was released to appear at a later date.
RNC have not provided information on the other two who were arrested, but that will emerge once they go through the formal process of being charged.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the RNC or Crime Stoppers.
