Residents of the northeast Avalon can expect a big boom tomorrow.
The City of St. John’s is advising residents of a scheduled blast at Robin Hood Bay tomorrow morning at around 9:00 a.m.
Depending on weather conditions and the cloud cover, the boom could be heard over a very wide area.
The city says the blast is necessary to rock production as part of a recent contract awarded to Capital Ready-Mix.
Marshalls will be stationed along the nearby East Coast Trail to inform hikers who may be in the area at the time. People are being asked to avoid the area tomorrow morning.
