A group of volunteers spent their Remembrance Day planting a memorial tree garden in honour of those who have served.
The initiative started by the local nature group Guide to the Good saw three large groups of people spending the afternoon planting over 2,800 seedlings near the Outer Ring Road.

Organizer Kim Todd says eventually the annual planting will create a Forest of Remembrance.
She says the forest is a way to reflect on the peace and freedoms in Canada when there are other places that are not so lucky.
Todd says by helping each other and giving back to nature, they hope to build a peaceful world for everybody.
