A man faces a slew of charges after what began as a case of drunk driving.

The RNC went to the parking lot of a restaurant in Conception Bay South around 9 p.m. Sunday to investigate a report of an impaired driver but by the time things wound down, he was charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and impaired driving.

The 27-year-old was taken to the Lockup for court today.
