Thursday is a big day for a facility that softens the burden on those who have to go to St. John’s for cancer treatment.
Daffodil Place offers patients a place to stay with all the amenities at a greatly reduced rate during the course of their treatment.
Their annual 24-hour radiothon on VOCM takes place Thursday with many inspiring stories from staff and patients. VOCM broadcast from Daffodil Place at various times over the course of 24 hours.
Allan Hawco, honourary chair, says the facility is more than just a roof over your head. Also provided are three hot meals and snacks.
Hawco notes that they drive patients to their treatment, provide counselling, and many other services.
The event begins at 7:00 a.m. Thursday and continues until 7:00 a.m. Friday.
