Provincial Environment Minister Bernard Davis was part of a Canadian delegation in attendance at the COP27 Conference in Egypt last week.
Davis says it was important to see what other parts of the world are seeing in terms of climate change and how they’re dealing with it.
Davis says part of the conversation surrounded the role oceans play in reducing carbon in the atmosphere.
The Ocean Frontier Institute discussed the role of oceans as a “carbon sink,” and the need for greater research which Davis says is important, not just for Newfoundland and Labrador, but the global community.
