The Edmonton Journal is reporting that two workers are dead after an explosion at an oil and gas site near Slave Lake in northern Alberta.
The information was confirmed for the paper by Alberta’s ministry of jobs, economy and northern development.
The victims were contractors working at the Tamarack Valley Energy site. The Edmonton Journal says the wellsite has been shut down pending investigations by the employer and Occupational Health and Safety.
