Charges are pending for alleged poaching on the Great Northern Peninsula.
The Roddicton and Port Saunders detachments of the Resource Enforcement Division received three separate complaints of moose and caribou poaching between mid-October and November 4.
The incidents reportedly occurred in the Castor River North, Coles Pond and Griquet areas.
An ATV, trailer, two moose carcasses, one caribou carcass and two high-powered hunting rifles were seized following subsequent investigations.
Charges are pending against eight men. The charges include killing big game without a licence, transporting big game without the tags attached, and discharging a firearm within 300 metres of a dwelling.
