A 23-year-old man has received a 12-month sentence on charges stemming from an altercation outside a Marystown bar in December of 2020 that left a man with serious and permanent injuries.
The victim required surgery to repair facial fractures as a result of the assault. He’s been left with permanent scarring and described in court how the injuries have altered his life.
Lucas Power was convicted in June of assault and assault causing bodily harm in connection with the incident.
The judge sentenced Power to 12 months for assault causing bodily harm and 30 days for assault. The sentences will be served concurrently. He’s also been sentenced to 18 months probation.
