The RCMP have arrested and charged a 41-year-old Grand Bank woman with animal cruelty after a video was posted to social media.

RCMP followed up on reports received around 4:00 p.m. Monday related to a live social media video showing harm being done to a cat.

Amy Drake of Grand Bank was arrested Monday night. The cat was removed from the woman’s home and transported to the SPCA.

Drake is charged with causing unnecessary harm to an animal, breach of probation, and breach of a condition of a court release order.

The accused was released on condition to appear in court November 30.
