Twenty-seven-year-old Brandon Noftall has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison less time served in the December 2020 stabbing death of his step-father.
Bobby Noftall died on the Southern Shore while en route to hospital after he intervened in a fight between Brandon and his mother over money. He had suffered four deep stab wounds.
Brandon Noftall pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter earlier this year.
The Crown had been seeking a sentence of seven to eight years with the defense arguing for four to six years.
With time already served prior to conviction, Noftall has less than three years to spend in prison.
