The Executive Director of the Association of Seafood Producers is describing his nearly 20 years in the position as “the honour of a lifetime.”

Derek Butler is moving on to take on a new professional challenge at the end of the month.

Butler is most proud of advancing the sustainability agenda within the local processing industry.

He says they certified the first MSE Marine Stewardship Council Fishery in Canada and the first in the North American eastern seaboard.
