Labrador West is facing a labour and population crunch that is severely impeding the community’s ability to operate.
Area MHA Jordan Brown says the province needs greater support both federally and provincially to address service gaps that are hindering immigration to the region.
He says newcomers require a medical in order to start work in many industries but they’re having trouble getting access to a physician to meet that requirement before their papers expire.
He says newcomers are encountering many of the same issues that permanent residents are facing.
Brown says the region is in desperate need of newcomers.
