A 34-year-old man is facing a number of charges stemming from a disturbance at a home in Harbour Grace on Monday and another at the local detachment.
RCMP say Travis Oliver was arrested at the home for assault and uttering threats, but things took another turn when he was brought back to the detachment.
Police say Oliver refused to go in the holding cell, assaulted two police officers, uttered threats against an officer, and attempted to remove one of the officers’ sidearms from their duty belt.
Oliver is facing charges of assault, two counts each of uttering threats and assaulting a police officer, obstructing a police officer and attempting to disarm a police officer.
The investigation continues.
