After Black Friday and Cyber Monday came Giving Tuesday. The global event encourages people to give an act of kindness, whether that be a smile, a helping hand or a donation to charity.
“Our Divas Do Christmas” director Terri Andrews and PR director Sheilagh Guy Murphy presented a $2,000 cheque yesterday to the MUN Campus Food Bank.
Nicholas Keough, MUN student representative, says the money will have an impact as their shelves are depleted. The high cost of living plus increases in tuition has made it difficult for many students to get food to the table, says Keough.
Our Divas Do Christmas, which runs December 8 to 11 with a matinee on Sunday, December 11, has also asked audiences to bring a non-perishable food item to help the MUN Food Bank.
