The province is establishing a council to support efforts related to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people.

Government is putting together the Provincial Indigenous Women’s Reconciliation Council, which was recommended by the Provincial Indigenous Women’s Steering Committee in their “Hear Our Voices” report.

The new council will build a working relationship between Indigenous women and government with the goal of implementing other recommendations from the report in the areas of Indigenous culture, health, wellness and justice.
