An injured crew member had to be medevaced from a vessel off Newfoundland this week.
On November 28, Search and Rescue were dispatched to the call of an injured sailor on board a fishing vessel off the coast of St. John’s. A Cormorant helicopter was deployed to make the save, along with a Hercules craft to fly top-cover.
SAR were able to airlift the injured crew member and bring him to shore to receive medical attention.
The @USCGNortheast and #JRCCHalifax agreed #RCAF #SAR assets were best placed to respond quickly, safely getting the injured sailor to safety fast. A great example of <CAN><US> #SAR cooperation. #Rescue! #Teamwork # @RCAF_ARC pic.twitter.com/U5p7ivMus4
