The overall level of satisfaction with St. John’s programs and services is down according to the latest Resident Satisfaction Survey which is conducted by the capital city every two years.
The survey results show a general decline in scores from 2020, with 65 per cent rating their overall satisfaction with programs and services at 7 out of 10 or higher.
Mayor Danny Breen says while they were disappointed to see a decline in levels of satisfaction, they are also aware that it is in line with the current economic and political climate.
He says as the world emerges from the pandemic, residents are facing challenges including rising inflation and fears of a recession.
Road maintenance, traffic planning and road and sidewalk snow clearing continue to be priority areas for improvement according to the city.
120 surveys were completed in each of the city’s 5 Wards, with 75 per cent of respondents with no children living at home. 47 per cent had a household income of over $100,000, while 76 per cent had completed university, college or post graduate studies.
