The Town of Conception Bay South is kicking off the holiday season with a number of events starting this weekend.
The annual CBS Santa Claus Parade will be going ahead on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. The parade will leave Villanova Junior High and make its way to the town hall. There’s a free shuttle service as well.
Later that evening, the town will be holding a Tree Lighting Ceremony in front of the town hall at 4:00 p.m.
Letters to Santa, as well as donations of non-perishable food items, will be collected at both events.
In the event of poor weather, events will go ahead on Sunday.
As well, a Seniors Christmas Social will be held on Thursday, December 8, from noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 50. Seniors are invited to attend a free lunch followed by live entertainment.
More information on the events can be found on the town’s website.
