One of the leaders of a study to get information on HIV, Hepatitis C and syphilis says there is a significant demand for sexually transmitted and blood born infections screening in this province, particularly in rural areas.
Anyone interested in going to one of the 11 pharmacies for such a test can either contact the outlet itself or go through the APPROACH study website.
Dr. Debbie Kelly of the MUN School of Pharmacy says three pharmacies in Western Health, two in Central and six in Eastern Health are participating in the screening.
They have been trying to get into Labrador as well but have not yet done so. That is one of their priorities. Kelly says people are struggling to get testing in the region.
