The Nunatsiavut government has extended its agreement with Labrador-Grenfell Health to provide scheduled medical flights and make health care services more readily available to residents of five Inuit communities on the north coast of Labrador.
The agreement calls for two additional flights per week to continue until March 31st, resulting in less time that patients are away from their families and communities, according to Nunatsiavut President Johannes Lampe.
The money is being provided through the Nunatsiavut government’s COVID-19 Indigenous Community Support Fund.
