Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador has selected a new CEO.
Rob Nolan will replace Craig Pollett who is stepping down at the end of the month after two decades in the role.
Nolan, a political science graduate, is a past chair of Happy City St. John’s. He takes over the new role on December 12, and will work with Pollett to learn the ropes until the end of the month.
Nolan brings his passion for climate action into the new position. He says municipalities will bear the brunt of extreme weather events caused by climate change and need to be prepared for those challenges.
He says tackling coastal erosion, flooding, warming temperatures and forest fires will require a regional approach and the membership of MNL is already on the same page in that regard.
