The provincial government is joining a number of regions in honouring today as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The day, which aims to promote disability awareness and the rights of those living with disabilities, has been recognized by the UN every December 3 since 1992.
The province says they’ve been working to improve accessibility and inclusion to support persons with disabilities having full participation in society with the introduction of the Accessibility Act.
The Minister responsible for the Status of Persons with Disabilities, John Abbott, signed a proclamation earlier this week.
The United Nations flag will be flying at Confederation Building in recognition of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
