A fourth charter aircraft carrying Ukrainians fleeing war in their home country and seeking opportunities here is scheduled to arrive in St. John’s.
The flight, from Warsaw, Poland is scheduled to arrive later today.
Newfoundland and Labrador has set up a Ukrainian desk in Warsaw for Ukrainians interested in coming to the province.
Immigration Minister Gerry Byrne says the desk, which will be maintained for the foreseeable future, is an initiative of the provincial government.
Today’s charter brings to 1,300 the total number of Ukrainians who have come to the province since Russia’s invasion in late February.
