The students of Phoenix Academy in Carmanville are proud of their school and the amenities it has, but they’re fed up with the state of their outdoor playground space which has become the victim of neglect and disrepair.
The students of the all-grade school are so fed up that they’ve put together a video on the state of the facility, interviewing fellow students and staff.
They’re hoping that funding will be made available to revitalize the outdoor space and allow students of all ages to safely access to the playground.
They’ve also taken a few liberties with some dramatic elements to make their point.
They included a rap that includes the lyrics, “The playground needs to bounce back, can’t cut any slack, this thing is about to get whack… have no swings or slide, when we play hide n’ seek, there’s no place to hide”.
