The province’s Privacy Commissioner welcomes a review of the statutory offices that report to the House of Assembly.
Justice Minister John Hogan announced the review earlier this week in light of a series of events and reports related to a whistleblower investigation into complaints of harassment and bullying at the Chief Electoral Office.
Privacy Commissioner Michael Harvey looks forward to cooperating with former Justice Robert Fowler. Harvey says he believes his office performs its oversight role effectively and transparently. They have undergone previous statutory reviews.
He says they are happy to participate in a review that could find improvements in effective oversight and protection to the access and privacy rights of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians.
