Most of those cost of living cheques have gone out.
Finance Minister Siobhan Coady gave the update this morning. She says 96 per cent of the payments has gone out.
The $500 payments are a one-time boost to help people cope with the rising cost of essentials such as food and fuel.
She says anyone with questions or concerns should wait a couple of days to make sure their cheque isn’t in the mail. If the cheque still isn’t received, people can call 1-877-729-6376. Coady says that number can also be used to change your address to make sure the cheque goes to the right location.
