A staffing crunch, made more challenging by a shortage of substitute teachers, is having an impact on schools especially with a spike in respiratory illness in recent weeks.
NLTA President Trent Langdon says teachers have been trying to navigate the situation as best as possible.
He says the increase in illness is making things even more challenging in light of existing stresses.
He says some teachers are doubling up classes when a sub can’t come in.
