An association dedicated to the development of the province’s environmental industries is hailing the launch of the province’s call for bids for access to Crown land for wind and hydrogen projects as an “important day for Newfoundland and Labrador.”
econext, previously known as the Newfoundland and Labrador Environmental Industries Association, says the province can play an important role in the fight against climate change.
CEO Kieran Hanley says harnessing the province’s renewable wind resources will help the world decarbonize, while creating “excellent jobs and business opportunities.”
Hanley believed the province should be commended for its work on putting the necessary processes and policies in place, and putting the province in a position to attract investment and become a “world leader in hydrogen production.”
