A Bay Bulls fisherman and President of SEA-NL has announced that he intends to run for the presidency of the Fish, Food and Allied Workers Union.
Jason Sullivan, who for years has been an outspoken critic of the FFAW and its leadership, admits that it’s easy to criticize, but you also have to be willing to “put your neck out there and offer the membership an alternative.”
Sullivan has requested a leave of absence from his duties as the President of SEA-NL, an advocacy group for inshore owner-operators.
Keith Sullivan who has served as president of the union for the last eight years is stepping down early in the new year. Greg Pretty has been endorsed by the FFAW executive as the next union president.
